Guarding & Response

K9 units

Dogs and trained handlers for explosives, narcotics and perimeter defence.

A dog handler and dog patrolling a perimeter fence

Dogs and their trained handlers, deployed to detect explosives and narcotics and to defend perimeters. A dog team adds detection and deterrence that officers alone cannot: a dog searches a vehicle, a bag or a building quickly and thoroughly, and few intruders want to test a fence a dog is patrolling.

Where and when the teams work is planned with you from the site risk assessment: screening at an entry point, searching before an event, or patrolling a boundary at night.

What it includes

  • Explosives detection at entry points, in vehicles and before events
  • Narcotics detection where your site or your policies require it
  • Perimeter patrols by a dog team, especially at night
  • Trained handlers who control their dog at all times
  • Deployment planned around your site, your hours and your risks

How it works

  1. The site risk assessment shows where a dog team adds most.
  2. We agree the task with you: detection, patrol or both, and the hours.
  3. The team is briefed on the site and its procedures.
  4. The team works alongside your officers and reports through Red Sky’s operations team.

Questions clients ask

Are the dogs safe around staff and visitors?

A dog always works with its handler, who controls where it goes and keeps it away from people it should not approach.

Can a dog team work only on some nights?

Yes. Deployment is planned around your risks, so a team can cover the hours or events that need it most.
